If anyone expects so, then perhaps he or she does not have proper knowledge about his or her locality.

Computer service knowledge may not necessarily be cup of tea for everybody. This can't be as well, because everybody has his or her own business to do. A user can keep up working on his or her computer for all along a day, but at the same time, he or she may not have computer service and repair knowledge. Nor does he or she have hardware knowledge. For them, calling up their local vendors for fixing computer problems or online tech support is compulsory and will be logical also.

But, those days are over when computer users like you need have to call up local technician, who would send a technician to the site so that issues with your computer could be fixed. If a customer [read compute user] selects a particular online computer technical support provider and on completion that customer feels satisfied, then the customer can subscribe to any type of subscription package other than per incident type. If they find their job finished unsatisfactorily, then they can simply flush out of the idea of attaching with the service provider any further. So, it depends on users whether they need or should continue with their service or stop from conceiving of such idea.

  1. To be honest, I encountered some serious tech issues with computers. I don't think there is a person who uses computers that hasn't had problems with their computers. So calling the IT tech support specialists has, is and will be the solution for a long time. The online service is a good alternative, but only for software issues, as you said, not hardware, but in the future it may be a better one.
